Recovery of raw materials

Featuring prominently among the many initiatives undertaken to make our power plants more environmentally sound are intensive efforts to put combustion waste to various positive uses:

• backfilling mining excavations with combustion by-products
• sealing material for hydraulic engineering purposes (municipal dumps, hazardous waste dumps, flood embankments)
• road construction, production of cement binders.

Moreover, in 2005 our company obtained an extension for the existing concession to co-fire biomass, which is a permission to start producing “green energy”.
