The Polsat Foundation

About the foundation

The Polsat Foundation is a nationwide foundation based in Warsaw, established to bring help the disabled.

The foundation provides its support in carrying out complex surgical procedures, specialist treatment of children, or purchase of modern pharmaceuticals. It saves the health and lives of children who cannot recover without its assistance.

Since the beginning of its existence, the Foundation has provided help to over 36,000 small patients and financially supported 1,222 hospitals and medical centres across the country. In total, the Foundation has allocated nearly PLN 240 million for statutory purposes. These funds come from nationwide campaigns, donations, subsidies from companies as well as many private individuals.

In 2018, the Foundation was awarded the Honorary Badge for the Protection of Children's Rights in 2018. This honourable distinction was awarded by the Children’s Rights Ombudsmann, Marek Michalak, who said: "this distinction is for thousands of saved children, for their life and health, and for supporting paediatric hospitals". The 'We are for the children' campaign is one of the most recognizable projects of the Polsat Foundation. Its goal is to raise funds for the rehabilitation and treatment of children – wards of the Polsat Foundation.

In 2018, the Foundation also received the "Friend of the Children’s Health Institute" medal for its over 20 years of support for this largest paediatric hospital in Poland.

Foundation in the face of a coronavirus pandemia

In the epidemiological situation in which Poland found itself due to the spread of coronavirus, at the beginning of April 2020, the Foundation donated 2 million tablets along with Internet bundles, intended for children in 16 provinces, so that they could benefit from remote education. At the same time, the Polsat Foundation helps in the fight against coronavirus by transferring two million zlotys for the purchase of equipment for healthcare.

Polsat TV, on April 2 this year, broadcast an advertising block called "ADVERTISING TO THE RESCUE – Together against coronavirus". Through the Foundation, the total advertising revenue will be donated to the most needy hospitals and institutions involved in fighting the epidemic.
