Tomasz Szeląg graduated from the Wrocław University of Economics in the Faculty of National Economy, in the field of International Economic and Political Relations, specialisation in Foreign Trade.
Summary of professional experience
In 2000-2003, he was an assistant at the Department of Foreign Trade of the University of Economics in Wrocław. In May 2003, he defended his doctoral thesis on the hedging transactions applied by the world’s leading copper producers and became an assistant professor at the Department of International Economic Relations of the University of Economics in Wrocław. In 2003-2004, he also held the position of an assistant professor in the Wrocław School of Banking – the Department of International Economic Relations. Parallel to the scientific career, he was developing his professional achievements by gaining experience on managerial positions in finance and investment. From 2003, he fulfilled the function of a Chief Specialist of the Foreign Exchange Risk in KGHM Polska Miedź, and then of the Department of Analysis and Market Risk. In September 2004, he became the Director of this Department. In December 2004, he became the Director of the Department of Securities of KGHM and fulfilled this function until March 2007. From April 2007 to June 2008, he was working as the Director of the Société Générale Bank in Wrocław. In July 2008, he took office of the Finance Vice-President of the Management Board of Telefonia Dialog, which he held until March 2009. From May 2009 to September 2016, he was a Management Board Member in charge of Finance in Cyfrowy Polsat. From 2010, he sat on the Supervisory Boards of numerous companies of the Polsat Group, including: Telewizja Polsat, INFO-TV-FM Sp. z o.o., CPSPV1 and CPSPV2, Plus TM Management, as well as Polkomtel Sp. z o.o.
