A graduate of the University of Gdańsk (Master of Arts in history).
Summary of professional experience
Mr Wiesław Walendziak started the professional career in Gdańsk’s co-operative company “Świetlik,” by executing work at heights (1987-1989). In 1989-1991, he fulfilled the function of the editor and chief editor of the weekly “Młoda Polska.” In 1991-1993, the author and producer of television programmes “Bez znieczulenia” and “Lewiatan” in Agencja Filmowa Profilm [Profilm Film Agency]. In 1993, he was the Chief Executive Officer of TV Polsat. In 1994-1996, he was the President of the Management Board of TVP SA and a member of the administrative council of the European Broadcasting Union in Geneva. In 1997-2001, he was a Member of the Polish Sejm of the 3rd term and a member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. In 1997-1999, he was the Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister in the Cabinet of Jerzy Buzek. In 2001-2004, he was a Member of the Polish Sejm of the 4th term and the Chairman of the State Treasury Commission. In 2005-2013, fulfilled the function of the Vice-President of the Management Board of the investment fund of Prokom Investments SA. Since 2013, he has been employed as a Consultant to the President of the Management Board of Polkomtel Sp. z o.o.
Currently, he sits on the supervisory boards of the following companies: Zespół Elektrowni Pątnów–Adamów–Konin SA, PAK Kopalnia Węgla Brunatnego Konin SA, PAK Kopalnia Węgla Brunatnego Adamów SA, Comex SA, Muzo FM Sp. z o.o., and Polski Operator Telewizyjny Sp. z o.o.
